Case Study – Family Home in Radlett

We often give advice about how to avoid having your house collapse during your project, how to get natural light into your basement and how to get the best from your basement space. As the leading basement design specialists in London and the Home Counties, we are perfectly placed to offer up this advice.

What we don’t speak about too often is our work itself. Well, it’s a new year and we are delighted to bring you one of our first finished projects of 2020.

Seamless

This latest project is the perfect example of a seamless extension, from styling to brick and tile matching; the brief was to make the new components of the property match with the existing.

This leafy private road in the affluent town of Radlett in Hertfordshire has a variety of properties, each with their own identity and so, ensuring our client got exactly what they needed while maintaining the character of the home was one of our top priorities.

Digging down

The project was essentially a first floor side extension to the front and rear of the property. This included a full width single storey rear extension as well as a basement extension in order to accommodate a bar area, games room and cinema with external courtyard with stairs leading up to the garden.

There were also further internal alterations to the existing property such as a new kitchen and bathrooms.

The Team

It took a team of exceptional construction professionals to complete this project. We were delighted to be working with Abtech who undertook the basement shell, along with main contractor Staunton Building Contractors and landscape designer Rosemary Coldstream Garden Design Ltd. All glass floor & roof panels including balustrading were provided and installed by IQ glass.
