17 Oct Car Stacking
In our line of work, you come across some impressive technologies. Creating stunning basements is one of those businesses in which you can be really entrepreneurial and innovative; and, while most people simply need some extra living space, some projects involve complicated usage requirements such as spas and pools.
It’s all about space, and that’s what basements provide. When space is at a premium, often the most sensible solution is to dig down. So regardless of what type of extra room you require, the answer could be right below your feet.

Trends
If you believe what you read in the papers, most basements are three or four stories of opulent decadence, ruin the water table, and are the major contributing factor to the tectonic shift. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
Basements follow general trends, of course, there are the odd project which requires multiple storeys but, they are very few and far between. Most people simply need to add a little more living space to their property, or maybe just want to invest in their property.
We’ve seen basements designed to be used as granny annexes, au pair living quarters, playrooms, home offices, home gyms, games rooms, cinema rooms, entertainment areas, and simple living areas. We’ve also more recently seen that people need secure places to park their cars.
Security
In many cities, the only residential car parking available is on the street, which is less than ideal for people who might have more than one car and wish to keep them somewhere secure. Cars are expensive, and if you happen to have expensive automotive tastes you want to keep your cars in the best possible condition and away from would-be villains.
Well, have we got the solution for you…
Our friends at Wohr Parking have developed one of the most impressive pieces of tech we have ever seen. We worked in collaboration with Wohr to create a storage shell to house their innovative car stacking system.
The primary function of this was to enable our customer to securely store their collection of rare cars out of sight and underground. This provides them more space (above ground) to park their everyday cars, but also the peace of mind that their collection is safe and secure in a subterranean lockbox complete with an EV charging point.

Wohr have been providing parking solutions across the UK for more than 40 years, if you’ve ever driven on the M4 through Brentford and spotted the Mercedes-Benz dealership with the tower of cars, you’ll be familiar with their work. We absolutely loved working with them on this project, which is looking like the start of a wonderful friendship.
We think that this parking solution could be a game-changer for many of our clients who just want somewhere safe to park. If you would like to find out more check out Wohr’s blog on the subject.
